If you aren't trying to grind enchanting, it's a bit quicker to just make the most expensive item you can with what is onhand. "Precious" gems grow on trees, as does iron ore. Transmute the iron ore into silver / gold, then use the ingots to make really expensive jewelry. For me, it was a whole lot quicker than making buckets and bags of daggers.
